How to create Ginger ale:
This weeks mixing lesson will show you how to create ginger ale. Well not exactly ginger ale, but something that tastes just like it. Ginger has been known to be helpful for stomach ailments of all types -- particularly nausea and gas. Ginger helps food flow smoothly through the digestive system which allows the body to better absorb nutrients.
Now when it comes to bartending this is not a typical mixer bars tend to carry, but your guests will still request it. With this is mind it is important to still have something to offer them since after all, you are the bartender and it is your job to be a problem solver.
Below is a simple recipe you can offer as a substitute, just be sure to tell your guest that you don't have any, but you can make them "something just like it" that way you can be viewed as the bartending hero.
ITEMS YOU WILL NEED:
A. Glass (Pint Glass)
B. Cola
C. Lemon Lime Soda
STEPS:
1. Fill glass with lemon lime soda (do not fill with ice--this will dilute the taste)
2. Small splash of cola
Hint- The drink should have a very light brown look to it. I would suggest making this drink right in front of the guest so they can understand that you are actually creating something from scratch for them. Once you've finished, have your guest taste it right in front of you and enjoy their surprised look as they realize it tastes exactly like ginger ale!
